SOLAR IS THE GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING – For at least 25 years!
- Improves Your Cash Flow from Day One – For a business that borrows 100% of the value of a solar system, rebates and electricity savings usually more than cover all repayments over a five-year period. You then have free electricity for at least another 20 years.
You effectively get paid to install a cost reducing asset!
If you prefer, a higher short-term cash flow benefit can be achieved by opting for a longer repayment period.
- Finance can be arranged with the only security normally required being the system itself. That means your other assets aren’t tied up.
- Big Return on Investment (ROI) – If you pay cash for your solar system, you can expect an ROI of around 40%.
- Electricity Price Inflation Locked Out – Our electricity clients pay on average 28% less than if they had stayed on the standard Synergy tariff, even so, their prices have increased at more than double rate of inflation, since 2005. Solar locks out the possibility of electricity price increases, for a significant portion of your electricity expenses.
1. THE BEST TIME TO ACT IS NOW.
Installing solar will result in an immediate benefit. Any future price reductions will be far less than the electricity savings you miss out on. Waiting also poses the following risks:
- Lost savings – Every day you wait means lost savings.
- System Size Restrictions -To protect network stability, Western Power restrict the amount of a street transformer’s capacity to be diverted to solar. Recently we have seen some areas where restrictions have been enforced.Delaying installation increases the possibility of the threshold being reached. When that happens, we don’t know when or even if it will be possible to install solar.
- Rebates against the cost of a solar system reduce the cost by around 40% in most cases. They are in the phase of tapering off and there is always the possibility that they will be dropped.
- Smart inverters – AEMO (the Australian Energy Market Operator), is pushing to make smart inverters mandatory. During periods of excess network capacity, smart inverters can be used to remotely restrict a solar system’s output, or turn it off altogether. Beating that requirement is likely to be beneficial. Smart inverters will likely cost more and reduce the amount of solar production a business can benefit from.
2. ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFITS
Compared to energy produced from coal fired power stations, you will make significant environmental contributions through:
- Reduced Carbon Output – For every kilowatt of solar you install, there is a carbon reduction benefit that equates to 10 mature (9 metre), red flowering gums.
- Water savings – Two litres for every kilowatt of electricity not produced by coal.
- Insulation Benefit – of panels on a roof.
3. EMS CAN ADVISE RE ALL YOUR SOLAR REQUIREMENTS INCLUDING:
- Large commercial systems exceeding 1mW (1,000 kW).
- Installations on asbestos roofs.
- Strata commercial and residential systems where individual owners can buy and sell excess electricity produced, at prices that are more attractive than dealing with your electricity retailer.
- Solar farms built to supply energy to the electricity grid.
- Residential Solar
4. SOLAR INCREASES THE VALUE OF THE BUILDING
A building that facilitates cheaper operating costs must be worth more, especially if it gets to the stage where no more solar can be installed at properties in the surrounding area because the limit of a street transformer’s capacity being diverted to solar, has already been reached.
5. KEY FACTORS
The key ingredients of a quality solar system that should serve you well for at least 25 years are as follows:
- Quality Solar Retailer. As consultants, not sales people working for an individual company, we can choose the best solar retailers to work with.
- Inverters convert DC electricity generated by panels to AC. They are generally the only component that will require replacement. They can’t be relied upon to last more than their warranty period. Our clients invariably demand quality inverters with industry leading warranties of 10 to 12 years.
- Quality Panels – Quality panels have a very low failure rate.
6. ELECTRICITY CONTRACT
In the world of commercial solar, your electricity supply arrangements are an important part of the equation.
To get the optimum result, it makes sense to consider the two together as your electricity retailer must approve solar. Choosing the optimum electricity retailer or knowing how to negotiate with your existing retailer, can mean quicker installation and greater total savings.
As electricity consultants since 2005, we are in the best position to optimise your solar and grid electricity requirements. We can advise you regarding every one of around 10 electricity retailers that service most of the commercial market.
7. THE EMS SERVICE
We forge relationships with the solar retailers we believe will give our clients best value. With dozens of solar retailers serving the WA commercial market and a wide range of fast changing hardware to choose from, we are firmly of the belief that independent help is required to determine what package really serves you well.
Tapping into industry leading intellectual property from a range of sources, gives us a big advantage. We have Chief Executive/owner level contacts at most of the solar and electricity retailers we deal with.
- Reports – Going through EMS means you get the benefit of our independent analysis and support. This includes a report that cuts through all the sales, legal and technical speak, to give you a much more concise, easy to understand and thorough report. We can compare all suppliers on a like for like basis and forecast costs and savings out to 25 years. Much of our work is in the form of an Excel spreadsheet that you can use to validate our work.
- Free Service – There is no service fee for our solar services as our suppliers pay us an amount that equates roughly to their normal sales cost. That means you pay no more than if you go direct (sometimes less). We ensure that our remuneration arrangements are revenue neutral, so there is no financial advantage associated with recommending one supplier over another.
