ESTABLISHED 1996
When the WA electricity market deregulated in 2005, EMS became the first to guide businesses through the benefits. In those days, just three retailers competed on price only. Now with around 10 active retailers, EMS assess over 40 points of comparison to establish best value. Assessing little if anything but price and minimum consumption requirements can lead to massive penalties that are easily avoidable with proper advice and the ability to recommend any retailer.
Each electricity meter that consumes at least 50,000 kWh p.a. (~$15,000 p.a.) is “contestable”. For a variety of other reasons, a number of retailers won’t be suitable for your business. That includes contractual risks that don’t suit your consumption profile and requirements.
GETTING THE BEST VALUE – It’s important to understand that cheapest doesn’t necessarily represent best value.
Getting the best price is easy. In a very price sensitive market, anyone can achieve that by asking retailers for their best offer. Other variables can make price differences inconsequential in comparison. To establish best value requires years of experience in dealing with all retailers and knowing the right questions to ask. Without the right advice, massive easily avoidable penalties are possible. The worst third party recommendation we’ve seen resulted in a bill of $38,000 that with proper advice, or simply ignoring that advice, would have been around $320. (Client testimonial available.)
