SOLAR IS THE GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING
- A quality solar system often pays back in less three years or if fully financed, can improve your cash flow from day one – For a business that borrows 100% of the value of a solar system, rebates and electricity savings usually more than cover all repayments over a five-year term. With very low ownership costs, a quality solar system can be expected to produce around 90% of day one output after 25 years. That means you effectively get paid to install a cost reducing asset! If you prefer, a higher short-term cash flow benefit can be achieved by opting for a longer repayment period.
- Finance can be arranged with the only security required being the system itself. That means your other assets aren’t tied up.
- Big return on investment (ROI) – Most businesses consider an ROI of 8% to be good. Solar often returns over 30% and provides big environmental benefits. A 32% ROI applied to the whole business would see it double in value in two years.
- Big electricity price inflation locked out – Compared to prices we negotiated for our clients when the market deregulated in 2005, recent contracts suggest prices have increased by around 8.5% p.a., (around tripled the CPI).
- Environmental credentials are becoming more important with and increasing number of businesses being required to report annually and some asking those questions when choosing who to do business with.
- There is also an insulation benefit when panels are installed over an uninsulated roof.
- Solar increases the value of the building by reducing operating costs. It’s important to note that it can get to the stage where no more solar can be installed at properties in the surrounding area because the limit of a street transformer’s capacity being diverted to solar, has already been reached.
- EMS CAN ADVISE RE ALL YOUR SOLAR REQUIREMENTS INCLUDING:
- From residential to large commercial systems exceeding 1mW (1,000 kW).
- Installations on asbestos roofs.
- BATTERIES are now also becoming viable, particularly to offset capacity charges that average around 25% of electricity costs and are expected to increase.
VERY LOW OWNERSHIP COSTS
Inverters are the key ownership cost – The inverters we recommend normally have a warranty of at least 10 years.
Apart from very minor panel output degradation, inverters are generally the only component that will require replacement in the first 25 years of owning solar.
Panels – Whilst Tier 1 is an important criteria, it relates only to the financial viability of the panel manufacturer. It’s not a measure of quality. Good quality/value panels however can now come with a manufacturer’s warranty (the key warranty) and an output warranty that guarantees towards 90% day one output after 25 years.
Panel Cleaning – Unless the panels have an unusually low tilt, or a significant local pollution issue, one good downpour normally represents sufficient cleaning.
Quality Solar Retailer. As consultants, not salespeople working for an individual company, we can choose the solar retailer that will work best for you.
ELECTRICITY CONTRACT
In the world of commercial solar, your electricity supply arrangements are an important part of the equation. If possible, it makes sense to consider your electricity contract in conjunction with solar as your electricity retailer must approve the installation and if solar isn’t considered in conjunction with your electricity contract, retailers commonly increase prices to recover costs for electricity provided for but not consumed due to the installation of solar. Because we have worked with and studied the models of all electricity retailers, we know how to optimise the two.
- Reports – Going through EMS means you get the benefit of our independent analysis and support. That includes a report that cuts through all the sales, legal and technical speak, to give you a much more concise, easy to understand and thorough report.
- Free Service – There is no service fee for our solar services as when we arrange an installation, the sales portion of the quote goes to EMS as opposed to going to a salesperson or staying with the retailer.
